Marc Wolfram is an urban planner working on the dynamics of urban change and the strategies and approaches for steering such change towards sustainability. His academic background includes studies in architecture, urban and regional planning, as well as social and political sciences at various universities in Europe. He has more than 10 years of experience as a researcher and consultant, working with city networks and local governments, and as a lecturer in graduate studies and professional training programs in Europe. Since 2013 Marc Wolfram has been working in South Korea as a Professor at Yonsei University (Seoul) and since 2017 at Sungkyunkwan University (Seoul/Suwon). His focus in research and teaching is on sustainability innovations in urban policy, planning and governance, targeting socio-technical and social-ecological system transitions. He is an appointed member of the advisory board of the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO), and has also been a member of various advisory groups to UN bodies (ITU, UNECE, UNIDO) concerning smart and sustainable cities. He is equally a regular reviewer for the European Commission and for a range of international journals.
